Stevie Ray Vaughan

The music plays on......

Living life by the drop...

Sadly I still remember the day that his helicopter smashed into a fog cover mountain and died a Richie Valenez, Big Bopper style death. I remember my friends and I coming to school the next day all dressed in black, playing Stevie's version of Little Wing out in the parking lot at full volume. He was one of the few guitarist during that era that I owned every record he put out, sitting in my room trying to learn every song note for note. He was definitely one of my greatest influences and heroes even to this day. Stevie won a grammy for his album "In Step", which was his first record after recovering from a battle with Mr. White Powder and Mr. Jack Daniels. Its funny that everybody calls him a legend now, but back in the day I used to hear how he was just a white Jimi Hendrix rip off. People are never kind to the living, but they repect the dead: I think that that is a real fucked up thing about humanity. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of Texas Flood and listen to how the Texas blues are really done. Check out some more pictures here.
